WTF Arizona

I think it should be a Red Flag that this seems relevant still in Arizona

Speaking of ridiculous legislation…

HOW is this even a possibility?!

“An Arizona bill requiring immigrants to carry registration may become law, despite concerns it promotes racial profiling.”

Go Arizona…ugh

I have no words

Originally I was just going to post the happenings of Arizona that I felt were ridiculous but that got to be a downer fast.

Voices for Arizona is a project that provides the opportunity to Arizonans to have a chance to say what matters to them. As the site describes it is “A place for reality! Policy debates are often structured by talking heads and politicos that are detached from the realities and opinions of every day folk. This is a place for us. Our voices and our concerns.”

I think it is a great outlet for non-partisan arguments that emphasizes real concerns from real people. Seems to have a lot of potential.

No explanation needed.

Through Twitter I was able to keep up with the cuts as they were happening at the Capitol yesterday, and it was, at the very least, a sad day for Arizona.

Cuts include, but certainly not limited to:

  • eliminate health-care coverage for 47,000 children
  • remove 310,000 Arizonans from the state’s Medicaid program
  • eliminate juvenile corrections and shift responsibility to the counties.
  • $918 million more to be from the budget, with education - from K-12 to universities - absorbing 60 percent of the amount.

(More are listed in the article)

“U.S. Rep. Trent Franks, who often claims to be misunderstood, almost always after saying something perfectly understandable.”

While Arizona does have 5 Democratic U.S. Representatives out of our delegation of 8, the rest somehow make up for the crazy.
